intrams '78 - awarding nite
OLPS was famous for stage plays and skits. This stage play was dramatically executed w/ so much intensity by the Sapphire Team during the awarding night, culminating the weeklong seminary intramurals. In the pix were (from left) team leader lloyd fojas, tony deligero, another team leader "umad" fajardo, (seated) mike ferwelo, rene "binoy" deyto, mene "troyking" dimaano, and the late joe "uti" sanchez. sandball fight - '78
Adolescents we were but our being childlikes were never gone so we still played several child games like sandball fight(burulang sin baybay na bola), taraguan & baradil-badilan sa kalobihan, turubigan(patintero), baranwit sa sapa(w/in olps compound), etc. This pix was taken at Rizal Beach, where the white powdery sands were just perfect for sandball fights, during one the seminary's outing.
Rev. Fr. Julio Ciriaco B. Buena
Here's a pix of Padre Cacoy, beaming w/ joy as he goes around his parish. He's here w/ his acolytes and a parishioner. He still has the same smile as when we first met him wayback in 1978, he just smiled to us because he spoke a different version of the bicol dialect that we really didn't understand, even a bit. He was the 1st among our batch to be ordained priest.
CLASS SKED '79 (2nd yr)
This was our class schedule for the school year 1979-1980. It was our second year in OLPS. How amazed I was to found out that Caloy still had this copy of our class sked.
rizal beach in the 80's
Here's the picturesque rizal beach of the late 80's, white sand and cool sparkling blue waters. Before the beach was really wide, now it is a couple of meters short. It has now a receded shoreline because of changing sea current w/c produced stronger and bigger waves. Playing frisbee here was ivan pura of batch '80, he is now a very successful seaman w/ a "mansion" in antipolo city. Kumusta ka na, sano?
outing '78
this was one of the happy beach outings of the seminary, limot na ako kun sino na padi an may bday sadi. i think this pix was taken at rizal beach, with us was msgr. ching encinares (the last guy on the left)
CALOY

see the many faces of my dear friend caloy, and how he morphed from a chubby & cute elementary kid to a skinny youngster in olps and to a reg. nurse-lic. secondary teacher-still single guy today. so mga sanos, hain na baya an ipa-arasawa ta dini kan caloy, sano jetski and sano bomick?
paul's family
YEY! very long time-no-look kita kan sano paul pejo, so here's his cute family. he is now in maryland, usa. with him is his wife, maria, and only son, jon. i think he had gone to the US shortly after our highschool graduation, mao baya sano paul? padara ka pa mga recent fotos mo don, lalo san nakalipas na Christmas holidays kay ipost ta pa dini.
kenkoys!!!
mike oidem - the class kenkoy w/ him were paul pejo, joey dioquino, joebert fernandez and this pix was taken early in the morning, notice the cool pajama of paul. kaya lang we were sad when mike went abroad and didn't graduate here in OLPS. he was also the only seminarian that matched the prowess of fr. 29 (padre doug d.) in playing pingpong during our times.
sapphires team - intrams '78
here's the sapphires team headed by lloyd fojas and "umad d orig" fajardo(forgot his real name) in their swimming attires ready to plunge into the cool blue waters of rizal beach. hanapa nindo si "bukag" na suningit magpa-kodak didi sa team nira mene"troyking" dimaano, paul pejo, chin de castro, joey frades, joey dioquino, teddy resurreccion, von andre "sky" labalan, tony deligero, rodel diamante, derek tan, gerry loyola, art fortuno, reuel fortades, ivan pura, mike ferwelo, and the late joe sanchez, etc.
Pope John Paul II
I was in my 3rd year then when our beloved Pope John Paul II visited bikolandia. It was one the great moments in my life to be near and almost touch the path where He walked by. The OLPseminarians were just a stonethrow from where the Holy Father celebrated the Holy Eucharist for the bikolanos. We had goosebumps by just listening to the shouts of joy of every bikolanos, "viva il papa!"
The Chimes
Here's the list of seminarians and mentors who pioneered the newsletter of the seminary. Many thanks to our mentors, Ms. Luera B. Halcon And Rev. Fr. Roy Eco.
back to the past!
After the cholesterol and alcohol intakes during the holidays, we're back to reminiscing our nostalgic past with our beloved alma mater, OLPS. So here's "The Chimes", the official newsletter of the seminary during our time. this was the 2nd issue, I lost the 1st issue. Batch '82 and batch '83 , pioneered this newsletter,I don't know if this still exist.
holidays-karaon sin masisiram!
another pix binging with too much bad cholesterol during the holidays, with me were my two kids, pag may tuda san inkakaon ninda, siisay pa man maubos kundi an ama kaya you will not wonder how i became almost a 200-pounder guy from a meager 100-pounder when i got married, hehehe!!
holidays-as usual, irinoman!
syensya na kay i haven't got much pix san holidays kay very busy sa mga gimiks, no time to bring a digi cam. i was here w/ my elementary batchmates, si caloy iba man seguro mga gimiks na inaatendiran nya kay no heard ako sa iya san holidays, basi nagpa-manila.
